Matt Gerald comes into the 2009 season with more determination than ever before. In 2007, Matt led SRT 1600 Light Buggy points coming into the second to last weekend of the season in Crandon, but a broken knee ended his season and his hopes at his first points championship. In 2008, a string of podium finishes (including two wins) put him in strong contention once again, but he was outdone by close friend Mike VandenHuevel’s seven-win season. After two straight seasons of “almost”, Matt enters 2009 looking to take over the number one spot.
